I love these oatmeal energy balls! They are so great to have on hand! They are the perfect snack to have after school, pack in lunch boxes, for a sweet treat, or breakfast on the go! I feel good about my kids eating these because how wholesome they are. I make them with all organic ingredients, they’re gluten free, dairy free, and full of natural protein. Only sweetened with honey and the chocolate chips!
Jump to RecipeIf you are on a vegan diet simply switch out the honey for maple syrup.
There are a lot of recipes around for these types of no bake cookies, but here is my take on them! I hope they become one of your family favorites!
Plus, what is so great about these is they are totally customizable to your liking! My kids were going through a phase of hating chia seeds! Hahaha! So I replaced the chia seeds with ground flaxseed which is also an amazing superfood!
I find myself making these a lot during the school year. When my kids get home from school they need to eat within five minutes of walking through the door they are getting hangry fast!!
My Favorite Ingredients
Here are all the ingredients that I use. I choose to use everything organic, gluten free and dairy free! (My big jar of honey is so great because it is from the hive in my yard that my mother in law cares for!)
Enjoy Life are my favorite chocolate chips! They are dairy free and soy free which I love, also paleo and vegan! Not to mention they taste amazing! The dark chocolate chips are so good and I don’t feel bad letting my kids eat them! In this recipe I like to use a mix of the mini chocolate chips and the dark chocolate chips!
I calculated the ingredients in this recipe and I believe that each oat ball has roughly three grams protein and two grams fiber. My kids easily eat a handful of these which equals a great amount of protein, fiber and fuel!
My tasty tip: keep these in the fridge! Something about it adds a crunchiness that I love! They can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature, but the cold makes them taste better!
