French Press Coffee

My favorite thing about early mornings in our RV is my French press coffee! It is so delicious and smooth!

If you have had French press coffee before then you know what I am talking about! If you haven’t ever had it before, it is so smooth and never bitter!

I love my coffee hot, hot and sometimes it doesn’t seem very hot when made in a coffee pot. This way of making coffee ensure a piping hot cup! The French press I use is fully insulated so your coffee will stay hot even if you leave it to sit a while. Or want to come back for another cup!

It is strong, yet not overwhelming! You can make it as strong or weak as you like! Either way it is the way to make coffee!

The reason I only make french press coffee in our RV is, at home I like to wake up really early and have my coffee ready as soon as I get out of bed. At home I have a lot more on my plate daily. Having that coffee waiting for me makes me feel like I have a jump start to my day. Not waiting for it to brew while I’m half asleep! So I just use a simple Coffee Mate coffee pot with a timer at home.

While living/traveling in our RV, life is a little more slower. Even though we are usually at a track and the kids have to get up early to start practice/race or whatever, I don’t have a long list of things I have to do like at home! I can put a teapot of water on my stove and wait a few minutes to fill my French press with bubbly hot water and coffee grounds!

No electricity needed! Making coffee in a French press is the best way to have a full bodied cup of coffee!

French presses coffee in an insulated pot is the best thing in the morning!

My sweet sister, Olivia, got my husband and I this French press years ago for a Christmas gift! It’s been the gift that keeps on giving! We love it so much and look forward to having coffe made from this French press! It’s great quality!

I’ve seen so many French presses that are not insulated and look like your next cup of coffe will be a cold One! Not what I like! I must have a hot cup of coffee the hotter the better! Even my second cup!

Did you know the first patens on a French press was in 1852? Wow, that’s a long time ago! How fancy!

What’s the Difference?

The reason for the difference in taste from a French press cup of coffee is that the grounds are steeped not filtered. So all the oils from the beans and tiny bits of ground are in your cup of coffee. This makes the cup of coffee taste velvety and smooth.

I want you to try this delicious yet simple way of making coffee and let me know what you think! I think you’ll love it! It might take a couple of times to get use to the thickness of the coffee, but once you do it will be hard to go back to drip coffee.

I’m linking this same French press here so you all can try this thing! It’s the perfect gift to the coffee drinker in you life!

From the selection of insulated French presses I linked above, the first one is the one I have and I love it! The other three looked like great options to me.

Please leave me a comment and let me know how you feel about French presses! I personally didn’t even know what they were until I was 19 and working on a coffee shop!
